Before you submit
- Confirm scope. Make the research problem, original contribution, and relevance to applied cybersecurity or information assurance explicit.
- Use sound methods. Explain research design, data sources, limitations, ethical safeguards, and reproducibility as appropriate.
- Prepare an anonymous manuscript. Remove names, affiliations, acknowledgments, metadata, and self-identifying references from files intended for peer review.
- Prepare a separate title page. Include author details, corresponding author, affiliations, disclosures, funding, and relevant acknowledgments in a separate document.
- Confirm originality and authorization. The work must not be under concurrent consideration elsewhere; authors must have permission to report relevant data, figures, tools, or security assessments.
INTERACTIVE READINESS CHECKLIST
Are you ready to submit?
Track your preparation before the formal HarborPublish portal opens. Your choices stay in this page and are not submitted anywhere.
Manuscript organization
Use a descriptive title, abstract, keywords, clear section structure, appropriately documented methods, results or findings, discussion, conclusions, and a complete reference list. Provide readable tables and figures with captions and attribution. Supplementary materials, where applicable, should be clearly identified.
Final file formats, reference style, length expectations, templates, and any required reporting checklists will be published before the submission portal opens.
Anonymity in double-anonymous review
Do not include author identities in the reviewer-facing manuscript. Avoid acknowledgments and file naming conventions that disclose identity; check document properties and embedded metadata. Self-citations may remain when academically necessary but should be phrased neutrally and must not falsely imply another author's work.
Declarations
Authors will be expected to disclose conflicts of interest, funding, relevant institutional or ethics approvals, availability of data and code where possible, use of AI-assisted tools beyond routine language correction, and any necessary cybersecurity responsible-disclosure considerations.
Editorial decision & revisions
Manuscripts will receive initial editorial screening before external review. A decision may request revisions, decline a manuscript, or accept it for publication. An invitation to revise does not guarantee acceptance. Reviewers recommend; the designated editor makes the final decision.
When available, manuscript files should be submitted exclusively through the official HarborPublish portal linked here. Email inquiries are not a replacement for secure author submissions.
