IJACIA's proposed editorial standards draw on broadly accepted scholarly publishing practices, including the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidance. This reference does not indicate journal membership in or endorsement by COPE.
Originality & research conduct
Submissions must represent original scholarly work, appropriately cite sources, and disclose related manuscripts or overlapping publications. Fabrication, falsification, plagiarism, manipulated peer review, and misleading attribution are not permitted.
Authorship & contributions
All listed authors must have made a meaningful contribution, approved the final submission, and accepted accountability for their work. Ghost, guest, or purchased authorship is unacceptable. Requests to change authorship require an explanation and agreement by affected contributors.
Conflicts of interest
Authors, reviewers, and editors must disclose relevant financial, professional, institutional, personal, or intellectual conflicts. Editors will recuse themselves when appropriate; competing interests are assessed as part of handling, not as automatic evidence of misconduct.
Human subjects, data & permissions
Where relevant, submissions should document ethical review, informed consent, lawful data access, privacy protections, and permission to use third-party materials. Authors must protect sensitive information and use responsible data handling practices.
Security research & responsible disclosure
Research involving vulnerabilities, exploit methods, offensive techniques, malware, live systems, or sensitive datasets must explain authorization, proportionality, disclosure practices, and reasonable steps to mitigate foreseeable harm. The journal may require redaction or additional safeguards in the interest of responsible dissemination.
AI-assisted tools
Authors remain responsible for accuracy, originality, citations, and confidentiality. Material use of generative AI beyond ordinary language editing should be transparently disclosed. AI systems cannot be listed as authors. Reviewers and editors must not upload confidential manuscripts to external AI services without editorial authorization and appropriate confidentiality safeguards.
Corrections, expressions of concern & retractions
Verified errors will be addressed through transparent corrections or other appropriate notices. Serious reliability or integrity concerns may warrant an expression of concern or retraction, with preservation of a clear scholarly record.
Complaints & appeals
Authors and readers may contact the editorial office about procedural concerns, misconduct allegations, corrections, or appeals. Substantive complaints will be assessed by an unconflicted editor or publisher representative and documented appropriately. Appeals do not guarantee reversal of a decision.
Archiving & preservation
A durable digital preservation arrangement will be announced before publication begins. Backup alone will not be represented as long-term independent preservation.
